href=\"https:\/\/polygon.technology\/\">Polygon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tempo.xyz\/\">Tempo<\/a>, the company said in a Wednesday (April 29) press release emailed to PYMNTS.<\/p>\n<p>They join the four blockchains already supported by Visa: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avax.network\/\">Avalanche<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ethereum.org\/\">Ethereum<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/solana.com\/\">Solana<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/stellar.org\/\">Stellar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Increasing the number of supported blockchains gives issuers and acquirers a greater number of ways to settle with the network, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur partners are building in a multi-chain world, and they expect their options to reflect that reality,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rubail\">Rubail Birwadker<\/a>, global head of growth products and strategic partnerships at Visa, said in the release. \u201cExpanding our stablecoin settlement pilot program to more blockchains means our partners can choose the networks that best fit their needs, while relying on Visa to provide a common settlement layer across all of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Visa has been conducting live pilots and regional rollouts of stablecoin settlement for years. Over the past year, the company has seen stablecoins evolve from \u201ca promising innovation\u201d to \u201ca practical way to move money globally,\u201d the company said in the release.<\/p><div id=\"pymnt-1226992383\" class=\"pymnt-content pymnt-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-top: 50px;\"><p style=\"text-align:center\">Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p><script async type=\"text\/javascript\" id=\"dianomi_context_script\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dianomi.com\/js\/contextfeed.js\"><\/script> \r\n<div class=\"dianomi_context\" data-dianomi-context-id=\"4329\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Over the last quarter, the pilot\u2019s annualized stablecoin settlement run rate increased 50% to reach $7 billion. Visa said in the release that this growth underscores the increasing confidence financial institutions, FinTechs and payment providers have in blockchain infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStablecoin settlement over blockchain infrastructure is becoming a viable complement to traditional settlement rails,\u201d the company said in the release.<\/p>\n<p>PYMNTS reported Tuesday (April 28) that during Visa\u2019s latest earnings call, the company provided a detailed articulation of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/visa\/2026\/visa-earnings-spotlight-agentic-commerce-as-next-growth-engine\/\">stablecoin<\/a> strategy. Management described a model in which stablecoins function primarily as a store of value and settlement mechanism, while Visa\u2019s network handles acceptance and transaction routing.<\/p>\n<p>Examples include stablecoin-linked cards that allow consumers to spend digital assets at traditional merchants, as well as settlement options that enable transactions outside standard banking hours.
