the President and anything else is pure speculation,\u201d the White House said, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, since the White House imposed restrictions on the use of Anthropic products, government agencies can use the company\u2019s models while a legal battle between Anthropic and the Pentagon continues, according to the report. Anthropic wanted contract language that would prohibit use of its models for autonomous weapons and mass domestic surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after the White House announced this decision, Anthropic said it was planning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/anthropic-plans-to-sue-pentagon-following-government-ban\/\">legal action<\/a> to challenge the government\u2019s action in court.<\/p>\n<p>On April 17, it was reported that Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei was meeting with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in the West Wing to resolve the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/anthropic-and-white-house-aim-to-make-peace-in-friday-meeting\/\">dispute<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>By that time, Anthropic\u2019s Mythos model was causing widespread concern about cybersecurity.
