rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Wednesday (April 29) from Bloomberg News, which says this valuation would push Anthropic past rival OpenAI to become the most valuable artificial intelligence (AI) startup in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sources told Bloomberg the company is considering offers from investors that would more than double its valuation, though these plans are in their early stages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The news comes roughly two weeks after the news outlet reported that Anthropic was weighing offers from investors on a round that would bring its valuation to at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/anthropic-valuation-could-hit-800-billion-with-new-funding\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">least $800 billion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Either the $800 billion or $900 billion figure would be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/artificial-intelligence\/2026\/anthropic-valuation-hits-380-billion-as-enterprise-ai-demand-explodes\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">more than double<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the $350 billion pre-money valuation from the company\u2019s $30 billion round of financing in February. PYMNTS has contacted Anthropic for comment but has not yet gotten a reply.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the latest Bloomberg report noted, the funding talks are happening while Anthropic is trying to raise more capital as its software enjoys breakout success. This has led the company to search for more infrastructure as demand for its products grow.<\/span><\/p><div id=\"pymnt-1577285797\" class=\"pymnt-content pymnt-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-top: 50px;\"><p style=\"text-align:center\">Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p><script async type=\"text\/javascript\" id=\"dianomi_context_script\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dianomi.com\/js\/contextfeed.js\"><\/script> \r\n<div class=\"dianomi_context\" data-dianomi-context-id=\"4329\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> recently agreed to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/investment-tracker\/2026\/google-doubles-down-on-anthropic-with-new-40-billion-investment\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">invest $10 billion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Anthropic at a $350 billion valuation, and plans to kick in another $30 billion if the startup reaches certain performance goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anthropic is also expected to get <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/amazon-and-anthropic-deepen-ties-with-investment-and-hardware-pact\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">another $5 billion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with the potential for another $20 billion as time goes on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur collaboration with Amazon will allow us to continue advancing AI research while delivering Claude to our customers, including the more than 100,000 building on AWS,\u201d CEO Dario Amodei said in a news release last week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, this week also saw reports that the White House was working on a way to permit federal agencies to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2026\/white-house-crafts-plan-to-bring-anthropic-back-into-government-fold\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">continue using<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> new AI tools from Anthropic, even after the government placed a supply chain risk designation on the company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to a report by Axios, the Trump administration is putting together a measure that could reverse the Office of Management and Budget\u2019s directive that limits government use of Anthropic products in the government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The White House responded by saying that &#8220;any policy announcement will come directly from the President and anything else is pure speculation.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Pentagon instituted the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/legal\/2026\/anthropic-sues-us-government-over-supply-chain-risk-designation\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">supply chain risk designation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> earlier this year after a disagreement with Anthropic, which objected to the use of its technology in mass domestic surveillance and autonomous weapons.
